5 Big Questions of Life

I once read, “If you want to change the results, change the questions”. The kinds of questions I ask largely reflect the kind of person I am.

One of the ways Jesus impacted people was by asking them questions. He was masterful at it. In our recent Kingdom Connection breakfast, Jim Barker shared the 5 Big Questions of Life. Would you like to know what they are?

I think that we would all agree that there are 5 Big Questions of Life existing in every human heart no matter our gender, race, culture, continent lived on or century lived in. We need to be able to answer these questions in a congruent way if life is to make any sense at all. Without a North Star of TRUTH to answer these questions, we have set sail in the turbulent, dangerous sea of life navigating by the subjective lights in the bows of our own little boats without a North Star, compass or map. See if the 5 Big Questions of Life feel familiar to you.

Origin— where did I come from? Is my life a cosmic accident or is there a Creator

God and, if so, what is He like? Why did He create?

Why did He create me? What are His intentions?

Can I really know what is God really like and what

He wants for my life?

Identity— who am I? I know who I have tried to be to get people to like me, affirm me,

respect me, and to make my way through life. But who am I

meant to be, and how do I become that person?

Meaning and Purpose— why do I exist? What is the meaning of life? What is the

meaning and purpose of my life?

Morality— how should I live my life? What values are to guide my life? Where do

these values come from, and how will I live out

those values?

Destiny— what happens to me when I die? Where will I spend eternity? Can I know

where I will live forever after I die?

How would you answer Life’s 5 Big Questions?
