FAQ's
How did BLE get started?
In January 1984 four men in San Antonio, TX discovered how practically the Bible related to their careers. Through discussions and times of prayer, a vision came to life desiring to impact their city for Christ through the marketplace. They started writing studies focusing on the “The Effective Christian Career” and assembled a group of ten men in pursuit of this vision. By the end of that year 21 people had been involved with many more waiting to get into a group. Due to the marketplace interest, BLE was officially founded on May 20th 1985. Since then, the ministry has expanded across the United States and abroad. BLE has conducted hundreds of classes and seminars and influenced thousands of individuals in their walk with God through mentoring and marketplace discipleship.
Is it legal to have a group meeting in my workplace that studies the Bible or prays?
No, it is certainly not illegal to meet in a workplace for religious purposes. An employer is not obligated to provide space for meetings and an employer does provide space or time for employees to meet, they cannot discriminate against other religious groups desiring the same. Any reservation of workplace space should first be obtained by the appropriate organizations leadership. For more information on this topic download: ACLJ American Center for Law & Justice Memorandum
What is the organizational structure of BLE?
BLE is an independent, non-denominational faith based 501C-3 non-profit corporation. The ministry is governed by an independent board of directors.
How is BLE funded?
The ministry is fully funded by private donations from individuals, companies, grants and donor advisor funds.
How are ministry finances viewed and handled?
Financial integrity and Biblical stewardship is of utmost importance to BLE. Annual budgets are developed and approved by the BLE Board of Directors with regular reviews of financial statements to ensure the propriety of all expenditures. All donations to the ministry are tax deductible and financial statements are open to the public. BLE also believes Christians involved in the ministry should be involved in a local church and be committed to financially supporting their local church.
