Why Integrating Faith and Work Matters for Every Christian Leader

Most People Don't See How To Apply the Bible to Work

Many Christians desire to live out their faith in their work, but feel confused on where to begin.  Without guidance and good role models, insecurities, intense work pressures and isolation easily stifle the best of intentions.”

Common Questions

In January 1984 four men in San Antonio, Texas discovered how practically the Bible related to their careers. Through discussions and times of prayer, a vision came to life desiring to impact their city for Christ through the marketplace. They started writing studies focusing on the “The Effective Christian Career” and assembled a group of ten men in pursuit of this vision.

By the end of that year 21 people had been involved with many more waiting to get into a group. Due to the marketplace interest, BLE was officially founded on May 20th 1985. Since then, the ministry has expanded across the United States and abroad.

BLE has been privileged to serve thousands of individuals and many organizations over the last 40 years through mentoring and marketplace discipleship.

No. We believe that everybody has the opportunity to lead change in their workplace. Whether you’re an employee, a manager, an executive, the owner of a business or a young person who aspires to leadership - everybody has the capacity to take responsibility, to have influence or to pray.

God calls his people to be salt and light - to intentionally influence people and places, including our workplaces. However, our influencing should be distinctive and our great model for leadership is Jesus - the servant-leader, the Lion and the Lamb.

This is why the BLE logo is an inverted pyramid, because Jesus said that Christian leaders should be the servants of all. When we seek to imitate Jesus, and when we understand that leadership is a process we are in rather than a point we are supposed to reach, we can see more of his Kingdom come in and through our work

No. Those delivering and attending BLE studies are from a range of church and denominational backgrounds.

BLE courses and studies can take place in workplaces, churches and online. While our course materials are openly available online for people to use, the most impactful way for a BLE study to be used is by a trained BLE leader.  BLE offers regular small group leader training.  Contact info@bleonline.org.

Yes, it is certainly legal...to meet in a workplace for religious purposes. An employer is not obligated to provide space for meetings and if an employer does provide space or time for employees to meet, they cannot discriminate against other religious groups desiring the same. Any reservation of workplace space should first be obtained by the appropriate organization's leadership. For more information on this topic download:
